The aim of the doctoral program, which focuses on “how it is known” rather than just “knowing”, is to provide health management education in the light of contemporary and universal values. It is also aimed to educate individuals who have a doctorate notion in health management, who can bring innovation to the health sector, develop themselves scientifically and contribute to science, and who are knowledgeable, enlightened and committed to ethical rules.
All individuals who wish to specialize in the field of health management and have a master's degree in health management constitute the target audience of the program. Scientific preparation program is applied for those who do not have master's degree in health management.
Students who successfully complete the program will have scientific knowledge, interpret global health policies, follow the changes in health legislation and technologies, conduct qualified academic studies at national and international level, produce new knowledge and have the ability to contribute to the field through theoretical and practical studies.
Graduate Requirements for Doctoral Programs
The maximum time allowed for a student to finish the program is 12 semesters. Students who fail to take the qualifying exam in the fifth semester are dismissed from the Graduate School.
Students must take a total of 8 mandatory and elective courses and two specialization courses to meet the graduation requirements. Also, a GPA of 3.0 is required at the time of graduation.
The student who fails the proficiency exam takes the second proficiency exam in front of the same jury in the following semester. In case of failure, the student is dismissed from the Institute.
Students who fail to submit a thesis proposal within six months as of the date of passing the qualifying exam and fail the thesis follow-up examination two times in succession or 3 times are dismissed from the Graduate School
